Use blu-tac. Information technology damps the connectedness betwixt the speaker and the stand and keeps them secure.
Skillful luck drilling into the bottom of the F1'south and keeping them in i piece - really I'd pay expert money to see you do that.

I'm merely dislocated about how the quality of the stand makes a difference, plus mass-loading the stand up with sand or whatever, when you're then going to utilize something similar blu-tac to connect the speaker to information technology!
Retrieve almost it - y'all're looking for the near stable speaker possible, and then that the drivers can become on with doing their moving, without the cabinet wobbling all over the place.
The manufacturers spend all their time developing a potent, stable cabinet to house the speakers, then the new owner puts them on a wobbly shelf/coffee table.
Stands put the speaker at the right ear peak for listening (and so NOT on the floor) and expert ones keep the speaker in identify and so it doesn't vibrate/shift around - some guys even put bricks on top of their speakers to keep them equally withal as possible.
There are other methods to keep the speaker damped, but they don't price £1.29.

Consider me convinced!! Nice to know that sometimes low-tech (and low cost!) is still the way to get.
Low tech definitely the best way to go. Ive always used blu tack (i think because the guy in Sevenoaks S&V suggested that many years agone!)

Honestly? Cause I've heard conflicting opinions, and I'm about to purchase some! Is it worth spending on cablevision?
I'm currently thinking QED Silver Ceremony XT (£v/yard) for the center and two fronts, and QED Original speaker cable (£2.50/m) for the rears.
Add together in plugs and the toll is non inconsiderable. Which brings me to another question - does the quality of the plugs make a divergence? Worth spending on? QED Airloc 4mm plugs price most £v each.
Or is blank wire connexion to your speakers better?
Without wishing to fulfill my own prophecy, I was at a recent demo of the new PMC EB1 speakers (£6000) powered past a pair of Bryston monblock amps (£6500 EACH!) and the matching Bryston pre-amp (£4500). The speaker wire was a standard braided copper for "nigh £2.l/thou off the reel". Plugs were standard bananas and the whole shebang was singled wired. If it's skillful enough for PMC.......
My honest opinion is, wait in the Cables Forum Powerbuys (or Maplins) for the 2.5mm Van Damme Blue Studio Series at £2.50/yard. Buy some decent bananas for about £two.l each and exist smug about the money you lot merely saved. Whatsoever more and you'd have made a far bigger difference by buying more than expensive speakers. FWIW, I replaced Silver Ceremony with the Van Damme and I'm non regretting it one jot.
